It’s been almost a year since I finished Neon Genesis: Evangelion so there was a couple moments here where my memory of how we got here was a bit fuzzy. Aside from that though, just like with the series I had a great time with this. The animation is stunning, the story is amazing and I honestly can’t see how some of this could ever be topped.
I do have a few personal issues that aren’t holding the rating back, as there are a few moments here that I find pretty blasphemous/sacrilegious. That being said, I’ve always liked how this story uses biblical narratives to tell its cyberpunk story. Overall, I finally understand all the Evangelion hype and I’m happy to say that I’m 100% with that hype.
