The pervasive issue I had with this film was that right from the beginning Will was not just a genius but super humanly intelligent. As if the story was set in the marvel cinematic universe and not earth. The concept of a natural genius was brought up in mentioning Einstein, but the obvious disanalogy was that even Einstein wasn’t some miraculous phenomenon.
