Funny Face 1957
Wasn’t in the mood for the story, but production design and performances made it worthwhile. Preferred Astaire and Hepburn’s solo dance scenes. Closed captioning kept inputting “bozaz” for “pizazz” much to my amusement. “Ring-a-them bells” scene reminded me of Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon as unhinged motivational singers on SNL. Devil Wears Prada definitely paid homage to the scenes at the magazine offices, particularly the opening, and the fashion as serious business journey of main character. Oh, and I guess the whole denouement in Paris thing too.

Wake in Fright 1971
Most disturbing movie I've seen in a long time. I'm completely unnerved and anticipate nightmares tonight. The kangaroo scene was too much for me, I had to hide my eyes. Last time I did that was during IRREVERSIBLE.

I'm so in love with Sarah Kennedy in this. What else can I say about this wild movie? What a trip.
