Past Lives 2023
So vibey ✨️ and beautifully written. The type of inexplicably lovely loneliness I normally only get from a Sofia Coppola film, but possibly even more depth. It is slow paced for sure, but somehow there is so much longing & tenderness in the negative spaces of this film. A delicacy that I probably won't rewatch again for a very long time.

I liked it, and I definitely recommend it. That said, I had some notes 😆. Pacing issues made an otherwise great revenge/origin story feel very stop & go -- gas and brakes, if you will har har-- which ultimately made me think it could use a better edit (as much as I also want more of this insane wasteland world). What was dialed back (from Fury Road), unfortunately, were the score and the action sequences. Rarely do I find myself wanting…
