This is like reading the book at light speed, unfortunately that also makes it easy to miss the novel’s rich themes. On its own, it’s an enjoyable vehicle for Peter Lorre, who did great with the material he’s given, but I kept thinking about Fritz Lang’s “M”, also starring Peter Lorre, and how a movie adapting a Dostoyevsky novel could benefit greatly from the psychological depth that “M” had.

It’s refreshing to see Japanese animation that isn’t distinctly anime-like

Sex Hygiene 1942
I could‘ve been spending this Valentine’s Day with my arm around the love of my life.
Instead I’m watching an old sex PSA directed by John Ford alone in my room.
