I'm seeing a lot of verbose reviews about this movie by people who didn't get it. This movie isn't about mommy issues. Mommy issues is a feature. It's not even about guilt either. These are just symptoms.
Yes the first act was really neat, but so is the rest of the movie. People that say shit like that are the same people who probably only like the first part of Full Metal Jacket.
