I’ve never seen someone who looks like me in a romantic role like this - ‘One Day’ is so beautifully written- the performances, the colours and little dossiers of longing and emotion. Monkey Man 🐒 where to begin ? Dev Patel’s directorial debut had me in a chokehold for various reasons - the gorgeous lighting , the cinematography - every frame was diligently and carefully crafted, every fight sequence effortlessly choreographed.
I also loved how (and maybe this was unintentional but as a Dev Patel fan it’s my role to read into everything ) , Dev played homage to Sheru ( Lion)…
