Scenes from a Marriage 2021
I KNEW this was Bergman-inspired from the first minutes of the first episode on. How they were almost never leaving the setting of the house, two BRILLIANT emotionally intelligent actors, so much feeling, expression, tension… how by the end of every episode I got so deeply sucked into the story that by the start of the next one it was almost comical to be reminded of the whole set up behind it. I've Loved You So Long 2008
So beautiful in every way. Every so often a drama comes along where every scene is just interesting to watch because the characters are so engaging. The film managed to fill two hours without ever making me feel like the scene I was watching was a "filler" scene, a sense I get far too often from emotional dramas.
