  Watching Kim Goeun and a tattooed Lee Dohyun onscreen was a treat for my bisexual heart, but that was the best part of the movie. The first half was interesting, but after the story shifted, I started feeling disconnected. I like how the creepiness and the tension com from the cinematography and the shaman rituals. The main villain of the story felt a bit silly, though. I don’t know . I think I just expected more from Exhuma.

  This is a lovely movie. It’s a great adaptation of the book, and the animation itself is beautiful. However, I think Lonely Castle in the Mirror should’ve been adapted into a short anime series rather than a single movie. I feel like people who haven’t read the book might enjoy this less, because there is so little time for us to get to know the characters!
