The direction and editing are masterful, it's rare to see such a fine work. Something was missing from the story, that I can't quite fathom what exactly is it, but I was aspired to see something else. Welles played the part insanely well, to the point where I kind of started to loath him completely. Heston is in my all time favourites, he was as wonderful as he can be in any picture of his.

The Apartment 1960
I have seen it a dozen times, and I still feel that this movie is the most touching thing of what the cinema has to offer. Superb acting, I mean Jack Lemmon plays that character with such nuance, and frailty, no one could substitute that role. Beautiful picture.
