How someone is able to write the perfect epitome of what could be.. you play those best case décantions over and over in your head, dreaming, delusionally… it’s beautiful how they were able to show that. The movie this leaves you wondering, not really providing an answer of what could be, but, for that moment when you’re watching them reunite, you can’t help but give in and be that younger self.
Brb, bawling.
Sure it’s a movie about the atomic bomb, but, oh it’s so much more than that. I approached this movie ethically torn - of course the conversation of the being immersed in your history is true, but to what extent do we extend the light of history to those who caused harm? Food for thought. The story of Oppenheimer isn’t a new one, but the story telling and direction of Nolan helps attempt to comprehend the nuances of Oppenheimer’s story.…
Haven’t cried this hard at the movies in a long time. This is such human story. A childhood self-reconciliation story. A nuanced immigrant story. A love story. Let this be a movie on your “must-watch” list.
