If Pretty Woman bore some sort of resemblance to sex work reality it may be something like this film. A trigicomedy that is funny but at times is heartbreaking and hard to watch. I actually loved it, Mikey Madisons performance is a tour de force. A powerful film of privilege, romance and betrayal with its Palme d’or win is a film that can’t be Anoraed!

Relic 2020
An Australian ‘elevated horror’ that delivers a few jump scares but is much more than that. Edna, goes missing causing her daughter and grand daughter to visit and stay at her house in the middle of the bush. When Edna returns she is different. The nightmarish atmosphere serves not only to add to the creepiness of the film but also to underline the nightmare of dementia. It is a film that you feel as you watch it and think about it later despite being made in 2020 it is definitely not a Relic!

First time seeing this and loved its nostalgic sisterhood feel. Although the plot is a bit messy Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are fab! Although flawed this Thelma and Louise of witch movies is Practically Magic!

A brooding oppressively atmospheric thriller that I felt ultimately was more style over substance. Well acted and directed - loved the way the psycho villain was introduced from the child’s perspective - but let down by the writing, I thought the plot was going to have legs but actually was just long!
