All We Imagine as Light 2024
I got to witness what it feels like to be a nurse living in Mumbai. The daily commute on the bus, walking up the stairwell after a long days work, the desperate loneliness of hoping for a reunion with a love that may not be there anymore, the way a metropolis city slowly consumes you with defeat, squeezing your humanity to the point of holding onto an illusion in order to find survival. 3 days after the initial watch and the feeling of the movie still remains in my mind. The scenes and dialogue were simple, mundane and so honest. I loved it.

this movie gave me a headache. I felt like I was in a pressure cooker. well composed scenes but no flow between them and sometimes felt too pretentious. the few and far between comedic reliefs did hit. too many side quests within the film that didn't add any value to convey the main theme (which I'm not really sure what it is) if it's about social hierarchy and the hustle within capitalism, I wish it was explored more.
