Part 2 of my plane double-header today; this was a ton of fun. Not perfect, but I enjoyed the heck out of it. Dan Stevens and Kathryn Newton are just vessels of charisma and they in particular are so much fun in this.

Sorry, this just didn't work for me. Its like The Menu meets Get Out meets rape revenge movie and it just feels like its trying to do too much. Unfortunately I think the tone is just off, the most jarring being a scene of horrendous assault with what is presented as a comedic musical drop. Just couldn't get into the vibe of this at all and the ending just really didn't sit well with me at all.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi 2017
Yeah, this is great. Loved the story and the divergence from "regular" Star Wars. Liked most of the characters and their growth (Admiral Holdo in particular, I liked a lot). Good amount of humor (screw the people saying it's too jokey-I' m sorry not everything is always so sad and moepy). Definitely a lot of things I did not see coming.
Luke is so extra.
Rey is amazing.
This is the first Star Wars movie to really pass the Bechtel, isn't it?

First things first, Rebecca Hall should have gotten an Oscar nomination for this. i don't usually say stuff like that, but, my goodness, this might have been, in my opinion the best performance I've seen in a long time.
