Fantastic ensemble work on display, with Will Poulter really standing out showcasing his comedic chops. Some fun Jurassic Park style blood and gore, plus a very sweet dynamic between Rudd and Ortega. Some of the satire falls a bit flat or feels overly on-the-nose, and there are general issues with an unfocused script at times, but overall a fun ride.

Some great work from Kidman, Macfayden, & Garcia-Bernal here. Unfortunately thought the script was slightly too back-ended and uneven to support the overarching themes and suspense they were intending.

The shift in tone from the first film into a more buddy-cop lane here was an incredibly clever choice. Affleck and Bernthal are a delightful odd couple. Despite some meandering and confusing plot beats, as well as a few unevenly fleshed-out supporting characters, the brotherly dynamic always places the story back on track. Come for the entertaining action set-pieces - stay for Ben Affleck line dancing.

I went in with zero expectations, but man, did this one blow me away. It’s a super well-executed, one-room genre thriller with sharp writing and fantastic, lived-in lead performances from Fahy and Sklenar. An edge-of-your-seat premise, plenty of stylistic flair, and some great twists and turns. All while clocking in at around 90 minutes! It’s worth checking out in the theater with an audience. What going to the movies is all about.
