Fiancé picked this one out because it was a rainy night. Most movies in this category aren’t my cup of tea, but I will agree with her that it definitely fit the vibe of the night.

Read the novel when I was in middle school or high school and completely missed all the political messaging. I remember I thought the book was a bit boring (didn’t have enough action). The film takes a different direction with its messaging and level of action.

The film is a satire of fascism, propaganda/war films, as well as the flaws that come with a military industrial complex. It makes war look pretty glorious and exciting until your buddies get ripped…

Loved the 70s aesthetic, felt like it was ripped straight from that time. I can’t explain it but I feel like this movie would go unbelievably hard with a hot bowl of soup on cold snowy afternoon. A new holiday classic for me.

I loved the meticulousness of The Killer. This is a very slow and methodical film, and you really do get every little detail of being an assassin. Although slow and methodical, the movie does have some really good action scenes. My main issue with it overall is that it felt like there was too much narration at times and then it felt like it was building up to something big that never came. I finished the movie wanting more, especially because I know what movies David Fincher is capable of making.
