A very ambitious film that's shows a lot of talent, but ultimately chews off too much for its own good IMO. The cinematography is gorgeous, and RaMell Ross shows off incredible skill for this being only his second feature film. I'm Still Here 2024
Great performance by Fernanda Torres. She does an incredible job portraying the simultaneous strength and vulnerability of this woman. The first half of this film in particular is just stunning. How we transition from domestic tranquility, to genuine dread, and then the heartwrenching reality. I didn't connect with the back-half as much, but it wasn't bad or anything. Overall, a very good film that shines a light on a very dark period of Brazilian history.
