  Eddie Murphy carries Meet Dave and makes it funny enough that I enjoyed at least some parts of the film. Meet Dave is just too predictable of a story to be engaging. It also becomes increasingly more boring once they move away from the characters in the real world and focus on the weird humanoid alien things. Unless you really need some more Eddie Murphy in your life, this one is not worth checking out.

  The most interesting thing I can say about Meet Dave is that I kept being surprised by just how young Kevin Hart looks.

  One of the most effective horror movies of 2024. Oddity ramps up the tension with a fantastic opening and never lets go from there. The film's ability to keep you in a constant state of unease makes everything 10 times scarier, and there are a few pretty good jumpscares to boot. The story presented is also relatively straightforward, so you don't have to worry about being distracted by a convoluted plot. I wish the plot was a little less obvious…

  Flow is a beautiful film that caught my attention right at the opening scene. It somehow had me tearing up just at how fantastic the animation was, and I found it very crafty at making the viewer care about what's on screen.   A good collection of ideas and themes that never fully gelled or connected with me as a whole. I think part of my struggle is that I felt way more attached to the story of how a party of unrelated Jewish people tried to come to terms with trauma and grief as a result of the Holocaust.
