I really enjoyed the first act. The cat and mouse game and watching him slowly start to unravel and panic was an absolute blast!! The next two acts were not good. I did have a lot of fun watching the plot and believability dissolve though. I don’t think I enjoy M. Night Shyamalan’s movies very much at all.

I couldn’t connect with this movie in any deeply impactful way. While I genuinely enjoyed most of the first two acts, the third act fell flat for me, leaving several narrative threads unresolved. I left the theater feeling disappointed.

This felt similar to reading Berserk. The influence of so many movies, shows and video games becomes so clear. The music was completely mesmerizing and used so sparingly that its impact was massive!

A tangled web of broken and grief-stricken people. The character writing is fantastic, and the score is incredibly enticing, drawing you in at the perfect moments. Many beautiful and creative shots enhance the narrative. My main criticisms are that some of the dialogue feels unnatural, as if the actors were reading directly from the script rather than speaking like real people. Additionally, much of the racial tension is brushed aside and ignored, which is confusing — why include it if there’s nothing meaningful to say on the matter? Frances McDormand is easily one of my favorite actors, and Woody Harrelson’s performance is perfectly executed.
