  Monster’s Ball is a delicate and sentimental piece on racism. The acting is spectacular, with Halle Berry giving a powerhouse of a performance. Billy Bob Thornton is nearly as good, delivering a more subtle performance. The ending is amazing as well. The only thing I wish was different was the films runtime. I wish it was longer, so that the relationships between characters could be more finely developed. This would have also allowed the theme of racism to be tackled more expertly. Despite this, the film is still very good and I would definitely recommend it.

  Oh my gosh this was so good! For me, I liked it a lot more than the last one. And yes, the end reveal wasn’t as satisfying as it could’ve been but the rest of the film was good enough to distract me. This compares to The Conjuring in how I fear in every scene that a main character is going to die. It is super tense, unnerving and simply more scary than the last one. The chemistry between the four main characters is spectacular as well. Very pleased and I’ll have to put the next one on my radar.
