  Bong Joon Ho is anything but subtle. A movie deeply critical of our time and position that regular people have in it. I was excited for this film since the first trailer but I’m sad to say i just didn’t LOVE it like I’d hoped.

  This short documentary shared an interesting story of a small island that not many of heard of and the struggle it faces as it is quite literally in the middle of one of the worlds most intense geopolitical battles. Some amazing visuals are shown of the island and is a solid quick watch.

  This movie deserves all of the hate that it’s gotten for everything associated with it outside of the film itself. The problem is that it also deserves a lot of the hate it’s getting as a film as well. While not the WORST film ever made like I’ve read, it certainly isn’t a great movie. How did THIS film garner so much recognition at Cannes, across the awards season, and with the Academy?

  If I had to be more succinct, I’d simply say this movie is problematic and just not that good.
