lazily made satire that leans too heavily on shock value to get its point across. otherwise not very interesting, either with regard to performance or cinematography... kinda just blah. this is parasite but worse and parasite is already not very good.

Lots of thoughts on this, not super well connected but oh well.
I’m really struck by the general’s role in this movie. If the feast itself is analogous to eucharist (with the procession, bells, sacrifice, remembrance), the general is a sort of priest, pointing out the real presence of the caille en sarcophage - which is to say that he is able to name because he has first seen.
