Utterly ridiculous pirate picture. Perhaps it created a lot of the "bits" but it now seems cliche in so many places. Just too goofy.

6.3 not even the great cinematography of John Alton can make this more than a mediocre picture. The villain is a "former" Nazi, who is gaslighting Barbara Stanwick, who saw him murder a woman, but of course nobody believes her. The movie is frustrating at times and just kind of uncomfortable.
