  This movie is excellent in the way that Halloween is. Like, it’s not winning a single award. But the story is strong and consistent, the horror didn’t depend on complex or high-tech special effects, and it was spookier than the last 10 horror films I’ve watched. There’s something that’s just horrifying about water danger that hits you deeeeep.

  No thank you. 

  Score and effects were constantly too loud to make any emotional connection to the characters. Lots of implausibility. But mainly just impossible to follow.

  I need to know the name and quantity of the drugs yall were taking when you said this movie was brilliant. Yall can miss me with the amnesia cats, vague dinosaurs, and other anthropomorphic animals overcome racism and learn to drive a boat plot. The animation wasn’t even pretty to look at. I did like the ASMR waves and lofi bit near the end though.

  A Dracula retelling that Bram Stoker would have been proud of. Faithful to the spirit and tone of the story: full of long cuts, slow dread, and a cast of eccentric characters. And just like the book, a tad too long. Definitely going to rewatch this.
