Re-watching this movie as an adult, I was definitely too hard on it. Thinking about the movie's main theme in the modern context of the content algorithms to keep your attention satiated and the generative AI tools available to read our conversations for us, respond how we would respond, summarize research, etc. Maybe the auto-fast-forwarding of one's life is possible in an even more literal sense than they could have even imagined in 2006, all while the world collapses around us. :'(.
