I Saw the TV Glow 2024
Great movie but unfortunate (and to a certain annoying extent) that it doesn’t dive enough into how Isabel being black affects her queer experience. I’d still consider it queer black horror but it was sad to notice how that aspect was erased despite all the noise the movie made. I think the ending is bleak despite the message written in chalk, and it’s really up to us to fuel it with optimism, kind of paralleling the general queer sentiment.

The kind of quality that makes you uninterested in other BLs… It’s really been five years and Last Twilight in Phuket might be the only thing better than ITSAY out there. We have more shows trying not to only be about gay romance while being restricted to the BL label, but I think only ITSAY was able to tell a story that is not scared to also be about gender identity while being gay (Oh-aew’s red bra scene is peak)…
