Only worth watching to see Bette Davis in her prime. It's a classic melodrama that's predictable and sad, but damn do I love Bette's little hats and over-the-top drama. She throws herself into every scene and everyone else is totally meh. The ending is a tear-jerker so prepare for a good cry. She somehow makes dying from brain cancer glamorous. Fun to see a young Reagan and hear Bogart attempt an Irish accent, but they were still forgettable next to Davis.

After Hours 1985
I've never been to New York, but I like to think it's just like this, full of wild characters and transactional encounters. I love the simple premise: Paul is just trying to hook up, nothing more and nothing less. It is totally captivating and his one night feels like it go on for eternity.

Novocaine 2025
It was entertaining enough to watch, with a similar humor as Deadpool, but the extreme gore and violence really detracted from my enjoyment. The movie had a solid setup, with Quaid doing a great job playing the 'everyman' caught in an escalating nightmare, but it quickly turned into a playful bloodbath that was excessive for my taste.

Kinds of Kindness 2024
Truly odd, but captivating and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, despite needing to cover my eyes multiple times and feeling absolutely disgusted by a few scenes. There was a strong Holy Trinity theme carrying through the three chapters and probably a whole lot of other subtext that went over my head. I will keep stewing on this one for a few weeks!
