  you should just read the book! a beautiful movie but i don't think this is a novel that lends itself well to film adaptations. so much of the book is about the prince's internal thoughts/monologues, which for the most part, is turned into dialogue with other characters for the sake of the movie. and it makes him seem much more callous and clumsy, much less perceptive, intellectual, and nuanced, than he is written.

  also, way too fucking long and they still cut the best chapter of the book out
