Coming back here a couple days later to say that I do really adore Anthony Mackie
The projectionist (in an immaculate brown suit) chatted with us before we got started. He explained that the distributor told him only Blu-Rays were available for theaters. But he “knew a guy” on the West Coast who knew a guy in London, and hey here we are with an original print! In 35mm & analog sound! This made us all feel very special. One of my favorite movie-going experiences.

It finally clicked for me on this rewatch that Jesse Eisenberg addresses Amy Adams with a Humbert Humbert line (“plain Lo in the morning, Lola in slacks”) on the helipad before he throws her off of it. Not sure what Lex Luthor's fucking problem is, but I love Jesse Eisenberg's twitchy bitchy menace in his scenes with Holly Hunter (one of many Oscar winners in this wretched movie giving a very watchable performance).
