  Really enjoyed the book quite a lot and resonated with the themes. The movie held up well to the book and appreciate Saoirse Ronan's portrayal of a young woman in early recovery.

  Beautiful imagery - nicely shot and seamlessly edited, wardrobe and sets eerie and haunting. Nothing super new? Characters were broad strokes. Film was engaging despite man in the seat in front of me on his cellphone the entire film. Composing many texts, looking at recipes, emails, etc.
  Lily-Rose Depp offers a lot of interesting physicality while being possessed, but was not creepy enough for me. Willam Dafoe was enjoyable but broad as an eccentric professor of the occult. Not much character arcs written in or explored.
