    I think Eggers wanted to be faithful to the source material and he goes in great length to do so.
    The setup is grim, the colors are almost black and white, the sexual undertone that is oh so important to vampire mythology is there, Orlok is terrifying as I assume he would've been to the people back then in any previous iterations of this story but all those qualities are also my issue with it.

    There is something deeply satisfying about watching an actor who knows his character like no one else. Hugh Jackman ends the legacy of the Wolverine in a nuanced and mature way.
