Re watched and changed to a 5 — this movie is so fucking fire and Timothee is so hot and amazing.
This movie was def freaky and actually was a unique plot for horror movies which I feel like is hard to do these days. But I found it way more sad than scary. The grief and mental health components were just straight up depressing. The acting was good and it was well done.
When the credits rolled, after a momentary pause, both my sister and I simply said “damn” at the same time. I felt overcome with emotion — sadness, disappointment, and warmth at the conclusion (?) of the story. I put the question mark because I’m not so sure the film’s ending marked the ending of the character’s stories. This movie, although slow at times, was…
This movie is just perfect. It somehow makes me adore and despise both Nicole and Charlie. It’s so incredibly heart breaking, yet empowering, disappointing, yet uplifting. But mostly it makes me sad. The last scene always makes me cry. Laura Dern’s character gets me every time — such a god damn queen. It’s also just sooo aesthetically pleasing and the whole movie feels more like a play, which is fitting considering Charlie is a theater director. Not sure what it says about me that this is a comfort movie of mine…
