Moonstruck 1987
after years and years of my first time watching this, I gave it another go. the first time around (clouded by my expectation for what a rom com SHOULD be) I strongly disliked this movie.
however, I’m glad I gave it a second try because I LOVED IT. Cher is fabulous, and her fast paced relationship with an erratic Nicholas cage was hilarious. Her family was so funny!!Translated from by -
Marie Antoinette 2006
watched it fully for the first time last night and I was not disappointed! I am in love with the lifestyle, the colours, the extravagance, and the little voice in my head “but they have no bread, they are exceedingly poor” (Peabody and Sherman reference) anyways it was fun and I loved how it was like the dialogue was quiet like we shouldn’t have been there. felt like a fly on the wall and I LIVED.

Emilia Pérez 2024
I don’t know where to start really. I had heard things prior, and went in with a low expectation. during the film, my opinions were lower, and by the end… I knew that everyone was correct (never underestimate the feelings of the general public).
how was this nominated for an Oscar? It sort of goes to show that the Oscar’s are no longer the high bar, elite, and selective award show it used to be— when it actually rewarded good…Translated from by -
The Brutalist 2024
on the journey of Oscar nominees, here is the Brutalist! I went in apprehensive, aware that it was long enough for an intermission. But, I’m happy to say that the length actually was not an issue for me, because the story was good enough to keep you there. If you’re gonna have a long movie, you gotta be sure to have a reason. And it did!
The story was interesting from the start, giving a great picture of immigration post…Translated from by
