    What can I possibly add to what has already been said about “The Shawshank Redemption?” It is one of the greatest movies ever told, and yes, I do mean “told,” as the narrative is fittingly narrated by the fantastic Morgan Freeman.

    The story is so pristinely polished — it is really as simple as that. Yes, the movie has its logical flaws, but none of them, in my humble opinion, falter the ingenuity and grace of the story.

    You know, I understand this movie was meant to be a profound depiction of the impossibility of “economic mobility,” as one article put it, and in many ways it achieved that really well. The juxtaposition between the upper and lower class was perfectly captured. However, I did not latch onto this movie in the same way I have other films I have fallen in love with.
