  The first film, whilst not exactly historically accurate, still felt grounded in reality whereas this film felt like pure fantasy. I forgot at times that I was watching the sequel to Gladiator.

  This is a weird one for me, a prequel to my favourite film. I couldn’t help but be slightly disappointed because my expectations were unreachably high. 
  I recognise that that’s unfair to this great film though and actually I respect that it didn’t give me what I expected which was ‘more Fury Road’ and rather a much more personal and frankly harrowing story.

  I can’t wait to watch it again with my expectations in check and actually appreciate  the film they made fully.
