Nine overlapping stories? Exhausting, but weirdly hypnotic.

The cast? Flawless. Cruise’s toxic alpha act, Julianne Moore’s meltdowns, Philip Seymour Hoffman’s quiet despair—they all crash together like a symphony of chaos. Yeah, it’s messy, but so is life.

“We might be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.”

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

    ★½

The casting didn’t work for me at all, and parts of the script felt flat and uninspired. Predictable moments and tired clichés kept pulling me out of the story, making it hard to stay invested. The cinematography was undeniably gorgeous, with plenty of stunning visuals, but even that couldn’t save it—I found myself counting down the minutes until it was over.

The only part that felt like Star Wars? Darth Vader’s scene.

I guess the Academy likes to nominate movies whose only purpose is to give them a boner. Fucking boring ass movie. Honestly, I’m proud of myself for sitting through this shitty film for two hours.

Miyazaki delivers yet again. Nausicaä is a hero full of pure love and courage, and the story is both beautiful and heartbreaking. It’s a powerful reminder of how humans harm nature and how nature fights back—but also how a little love and understanding can change everything.

And that melody? “La-lalalala-lala-lalalalala-laaa”—it will be stuck in my head for days. Such a magical film.
