This movie and the book it was based on are a complete mystery to me.
The main antagonist is the decay of the Geisha world, which is honestly mistified to the point of almost glorifying the child abuse the protagonist was forced to endure in order to “”distance”” herself from “”low prostitutes”” because that type of emotional torture and i repeat child abuse makes her part of a “mystic“ and “special” world.
