boring. maybe i just don't get the star wars vibe or rhythm, but i didn't feel invested at all. the acting was pretty cringeworthy which just brought me out of it. there's a lot of head-scratchers too (why did watto make bets with a guy he already suspected of being a jedi? why would the trade federation accuse queen amidala of lying about the occupation? what does she gain from that? wouldn't this be extremely easy to verify regardless?). i'm gonna continue the trilogy regardless.

The Dirties 2013
funny as hell. matt johnson did a great job making an incredulous dark comedy about a rather touchy subject. the last act feels a little slow and dull, but i was not expecting that ending. unique and delightful.
