  Look at this, a Steven Spielberg movie. It makes you joyful and optimistic like most Spielberg films—except it ends on the smoking ruin of a family.

  The acting in this is incredible. Particularly Michelle Williams, Julia Butters, Gabriel LaBelle, and Seth Rogen (yeah, that's right, he's good!)

  I liked one performance in particular, though.

  Paul Dano plays a flawed dad, in the way you wish most dads were flawed. He's not cruel. He's nice, so nice, you're furious that's all…
