  charles jang's thrilling petulance,, held together by the filming/editing, close-quarters, sensual, and clipped (so nyc & so compelling,  it's hard to look away) ,, times square proving again that it is america's stonehenge / massive relic of our religious culture

  the way Marie knows what she wants, what everyone else wants (even when she's wrong, maybe especially when she's wrong).... how Marie is both certain and wrong about what the people around her are feeling for most of the movie,,,,,,the certainty makes the not-having and the knowing possible together...i guess i am just remembering what it feels like, when desire is cloudy or impossible and all u can do is be close-at-hand during the weird in-between hours and it makes you into something so necessary and disposable
