    This movie brought me out of my routine day to day funk. Life can get dull with work, parenting, running errands and we start to take those around us for granted especially the gift of time that we have. I really needed a kick in the ass to start appreciating what I have more and making sure I stop living for the future and focusing on and being present today. A movie not without its flaws but one that most likely will connect with you emotionally. Glad we have the Letterboxd 250 list otherwise I would have never watched this.

    Ho ho ho!

    As I sit with a glass of whiskey with the fire on and my Christmas tree lights all aglow, I can’t help but think this is a perfect wintry Xmas slasher. A serial killer Santa with a nice and naughty list, a detective with a drinking problem, attractive cast partying with alcohol and drugs, and effective slasher kills. The isolated winter atmosphere juxtaposed with Christmas lights is juuuust perfect! Essential Christmas horror viewing and we need a sequel after that ending!

    This has to be one of the most well-made Christmas horrors. I got lost in the atmosphere and the interesting friendship dynamics before the plot picked up. If you know anything about the the 1974 classic, this movie continues in that tradition of making an absorbing movie in addition to making a societal statement about women.
