The Monkey 2025
Much like a lot of Stephen King's literary work the premise is fun but it tails off. The film is not without a few fun scenes but my overall feeling was one of boredom. By this time next month it will have qualified as a movie I forgot I forgot.

Nosferatu 2024
I was ready to love this film. Having enjoyed all of Eggers previous work to date. But I didn't.
On a production level, brilliant. The gorgeous film used, natural lighting, gothic atmosphere, super stylised sequences, fabulous actors throwing themselves fully into their roles. Great.
However, on a story level it felt outdated. As with most vampire stories themes of desire and sexual repression are embedded within the text. But it's sexualisation of violence and xenophobic themes are reminiscent of a begone era. Just because it's old source material doesn't mean it should feel like it.Translated from by -
