This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I could write a very long review on this film and use flowery words and cinematic jargon. I could also say that it was an entire piece of shit.
Here are some things I found particularly awful:
1. WHO chooses an unborn child over their s.o.? Bullshit.
2. Honestly.. not a bad film.. until they had to force a story in for Ellen Burstyn who couldn't act if her life depended on it, sending the vibe, pacing, and story telling…
The movie was great.
The practicals, acting, story, pace, EVERYTHING was great. I have no notes. I'm speechless.
I'm not entirely sure what that was.
Somewhere between Skinamarink (2022) and The Visit (2015) with line delivery like the children in Killing of the Sacred Deer (2017).
My god did this start off well just to crash and burn at the feet of a skinny white boy.
It should be called "Taylor Russell and little else" because she carries this movie from start to finish. All Chalamet can ever seem to add is a worryingly anorexic frame and a blank expression that gen z can cream over.
The plot is littered with unbearable characters and no real plot at all, making it little more than tween interview with the vampire.
