Nomadland 2020
So I just watched 'Nomadland' and it was the most beautiful thing I've watched in 2020.
Based on a 2017 novel by the same name, Francis McDonald plays a woman who leaves company town Empire, Nevada after Gypsum closes everything down in 2011 and travels around the American West in her van. This is from the same director who brought us 'The Rider' in 2017 (which I also loved, you can see why here: tinyurl.com/y6kydsfh).

Shadow in the Cloud 2020
So I Just Watched 'Shadow In The Cloud' and it was part technically enjoyable, part entertaining and all dumb.

I was expecting something quite similar given his style, whilst hoping that already favorable reviews combined with hype factor wouldn't dampen the experience. Suffice to…

Uncut Gems 2019
So I just watched the new Safdie Brothers film Uncut Gems and hell yes, the boys are back in town.
If this duo sound vaguely familiar, it's thanks to their handling of the near-flawless film Good Time that ended up as my favourite flick back in 2017. Suffice to say the anticipation for their next production was immense and it's a joy to announce that the wait was absolutely worth the time. Crime drama Uncut Gems tracks jeweler Howard Ratner…
