Is it good? Well, Anthony Hopkin's character seems a little too perfect (although his performance is great, as always); Brad Pitt seems somewhat misscast; the film is a little too long considering the simplicity of the story - it is far from flawless. Still, it has a certain charm. It is nothing amazing, but I did enjoy it.

Was maybe expecting a little more of this after having alteady seen Fitzcarraldo. It did not quite live up to that. Still, it was entertaining and nicely shot. The behind the scenes stories are also quite crazy.

The television screen has become the retina of the mind's eye. That is why I refuse to appear on television, except on television.

Today videodrome lives. The media does not control us quite as literally as portrayed in this movie, but with the coming of the internet its influence over our lives has only grown. We are constantly bombarded with subtle manipulations and propaganda. Videodrome tries to deal with this. What kind of future are we headed to? Will the reality of corporeal human life and media merge?

Death to videodrome. Long live the new flesh.

This movie beautifully showcases the importance of dialogue and the many layers is can have. Coupled with paranoia, guilt, and obsession, it makes for a simple but great movie.
