Macrinus was based and no one will convince me otherwise. Literally having Lucius give an I have a dream speech at the end and acting like he solved racism and slavery just so he can be the "rightful" king instead of the syphilis twins?
Macrinus wanted to destroy the entire system and Lucius wanted to keep the status quo so he could continue to have his royal family lineage reign.

Definitely more boring than I remember. A lot of inter-ape politics and not as much exciting monkey vs human fighting. The different factions of apes and humans were also sort of confusing to follow and I had no attachment to the human characters. It was just this weird dad who happens to be friends with the mayor of New San Francisco and his weird kids who stand around gawking mouth-open at anything that goes on in their vicinity.
