Beautiful - my take on the ending is that it is wholly tragic (the cheesy Italian disco rendition of the main theme to the silence of Laszlo to the trivialisation of his suffering), I can understand why people think of it as optimistic but the ambiguity swung the other way for me. Will probably write more about this in future but will give another watch before.

A true horror film.
From the opening scene of food being portrayed as a weapon to Diana’s dresses having the tag P. O. W. on them (Princess of Wales, Prisoner of War) I felt so effected by it. Great performances, great camera work and also a perfect classical/jazz inspired score from Jonny Greenwood. He should get all the praise at the award seasons that he deserved for Phantom Thread.
