okay so obviously russel crow’s singing really deeply sucks but i do really appreciate his version of javert giving gavroche his medal <3 hugh jackman is like alright for this. like very much just okay. anyways way more enjoyed the scenery for his suicide scene tbh just bc it’s hard to show it on stage (though i love the interpretations) and it hits harder seeing him actually up on the bridge. anyways hard to hate on the movie bc the plot is so fantastic and anne hathaway & eddie redmayne EAT so enjoyed overall

sooo good i love jazz so im definitely biased. very much pressure makes diamonds type shit. i was unfortunately physically pained by all the scenes of him playing through injury but alas art is supposed to make you feel something, and this definitely did. the abusive nature but genuine desire to make his students improve makes fletcher’s character so interesting and complicated. i feel like to some extent all of his actions may have stemmed from him wishing someone had pushed him harder when he was younger, so he could have been a great musician instead of a teacher.
