Realistically this probably deserves a 4 or 4.5 but this just captured my imagination and feelings so much. It’s on the nose with some themes but it’s part of its charm. Love the mix of serious and goofy.
It also begs the important question — would you let your clone bang your girlfriend? Would you bang your clone in a threesome? Would you bang your clone?
Acting was totally amateur hour and everybody spoke like they were in a learn to french video. Other than that though I thought it adeptly handled mature themes facing turn of the century Senegal with a healthy dose of humor (most of the time it was laughing WITH the movie but sometimes it was AT). I ranked camp de thiaroye and touki bouki higher but this is prob my favorite film I’ve had to watch for French class experience wise
No sigma music to let me know Patrick Bateman is an alpha. Zero stars
I wanna rank more things like a 3.5 and below but I see absolutely no reason not to give finding Nemo five stars. Defo my favorite Disney movie
