  “I’m the bastard son of Claire Huxtable!”
  One of the most unfunny comedies I’ve ever seen BUT has a notable sense of self musically and effectively carries its adventurous and goofy tone. The best part by far was Janeane Garofalo as the miserable Medieval Times employee, the worst was realizing that I was a dead ringer for Jim Carey’s bathroom attendant disguise when I was 25.

  Definitely feels like a strange foreign film! Some pathetic main guy and his one-dimensional companions take on cartoon villains and meet exciting creatures sounds like the core of a movie I’d  enjoy more than I did this one. Perhaps the sound was off in the theatre but it seemed oddly mixed in my viewing. Good if not obvious messaging I suppose but this didn’t feel particularly special, rather whelming.
